On a ROLL and out of control!

It is no secret that we have become more aware of our surroundings and we have made some changes to better our lives. One of the very cool new vibes doing the rounds – and it has been doing it for quite some time – recycling.

Not just any recycling. Upcycling. Just to make sure I had all my recycled toiletpaper ducks in a row, I looked up the correct meaning on Wikipedia, and because it is on the internet, it must be true 😉

Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.

I find that different people have different reasons for recycling, like most things in life, for me, well, the motivation is mostly FUN!! Yes, it is better for the environment and all that jazz, but slap some glue and glitter on there and let your imagination take over and it can be anything from an owl, to a minion, to any caterpillar or insect that you might need.

These creative activities are great for the school holidays or even a party and will keep little hands and big imaginations busy.

For any or all of these crafts you will need the following:

Toilet rolls – as many as you can find, ask your family ask your neighbor, nothing weird about that….“Hey neighbour I need a roll of toilet paper, without any paper…”

Who cares, YOU NEED THEM!

Craft paint, I find that the ‘Rolfes Redimix’ brand works really great, and the really great part is that it washes out of any clothes or furniture with a bit of water and soap.

Craft glue, any kind will do, if you have a more hands-on, older kiddie, you are more than welcome to use a glue gun. # Warning. If glue gun is used incorrectly, it might melt your face, right of your face.

As many old pieces of wrapping paper, glitter, googly eyes, foam stickers, pipe cleaners, leftover string or twine as you can possibly find in that “don’t-throw-it-away-we-might-need-it-later-box” Later has arrived.

A pair(s) Scissors, and once again I have to stress safety when it comes to small friends. Whether it a straight or zig ziag blade, it can do equal damage.

Once you have all of your necessities packed out, you can start creating your individual creatures… mua mua muaaaaa aaaaaaa *Enter evil laugh here.
